Weekend Highlights ... Celebrating Life

This weekend was all about celebrating life, and I am finally recuperated from it!

Friday, we did not get out of our driveway good when I suggested a BLT and milkshake from Sonic.

2 out of the 3 houses we visited had BLT's for supper. A good choice and simplicity at its best.

Our first stop was my grandmother, Betty Love's house, where she proceeded to fill us in on the current NBA brackets. I mean, I knew she was a Grizzlies fan, but did not realize she kept up that much with the NBA.

We then went to her garden which I thought was so pretty it deserved a picture.

She disagreed, and told me that it was not pretty enough for a picture and I did not have enough light.

I was stubborn, and took it any way.

When I showed it to her, she said, "Well, that is pretty!"

After visiting with our parents we managed to go to bed around midnight. This is someone who is always in bed from 8 to 9 pm. Sharp.

Saturday morning, I woke up at 6:30 to begin my day of social events.

I bought some wedding gifts, and then went and visited with Brooke, who was glowing with motherhood.

Can you tell why?

We had a good time catching up, and I am so proud of her new member of her beautiful family! And as you can see above, she has got good help!

My next stop was this party for a certain one year old.

His sweet parents did a great job carrying out the "Mustache" theme!

Who doesn't like drinks in a mason jar?

Wet Your Whiskers!

We also had faux mustaches. I think the adults had more fun with this!

I loved this!

The Happy Birthday Boy!

Where is a better place to enjoy your cake than on the floor?

Fun family shot!

See, I told you we had more fun with the 'staches. Priceless!

Middle sister forced this picture on me! Good times!

After this, I went back to my hometown to the smell of my daddy's cooking where he cooked out for these beautiful girls!

Who will graduate high school next week!

And my Aunt Robin, who got her RN!

I am so proud of all of them!

And if that was not enough celebrating on Saturday, I got to check my husband for ticks. Literally. He was the winner of 6 seed ticks due to going out on the Farm. Next time, he will be armed with some OFF!

Of course we celebrated those who spent several hours in labor to have us then to only turn around and spend more years laboring, praying, disciplining, and loving us to make sure that we were good members of society. We celebrated them, but they are always celebrating us! For that, they will most likely get a great nursing home when the time comes!

We could not be more grateful!

Have a great week!
