Birds and Fishes

We decided that for our Spring Break trip we would be fishes of the sea and birds of the air, except this fish was a little afraid of the possibility of snakes and maybe falling out of some trees.

We went here to take an 11 mile kayak trip and zip line down 14 zips as well as stay in an old schoolhouse.

We stayed in the William Faulkner room ...

where I fell in love with the tongue and groove walls and ceilings

This was the first time that we ever used ocean kayaks

As well as participate to see how many people could fit on a small platform

The answer is 8, and I really got to know some man's armpit. It was fabulous, I tell you!

We crossed swinging bridges as we soared from one platform to another

They had a cementary just in case you fell off any platform ...

Between the kayaking trip and the zip line, it took me a couple of miles and zips to realize everything would be okay. We never saw a snake, maybe it was because I was praying without ceasing. I also got over the fact that I realized I did not like roller coasters nor liked the queasy feeling I was experiencing when going from tree top to tree top. By the last zip (which was 900 feet long), I felt like a pro, especially since I came in hot and about knocked down one of our poor guides. He lived, thank goodness.

Pensacola was only about 30 minutes away, so what did we do ...

but put our toes in the water

and toes in the sand ...

We took in the local resturants.

We enjoyed the views from our table ...

the music ...

and the awesome food ...

as well as watch a beautiful bird sleep

Yeah, me too sometimes ...

And of course we had to work off all that food with a round of putt-putt

Ken had to concentrate really hard because I was kicking his tail.

He was so upset that he decided to wrestle a gator

but the gator won!

Ken seemed to be on the losing end of the particular night ...

We had a great time on this trip, and will probably go again. I just had to get over my fears!

BTW, we got this deal as a Living Social Escape, and it was totally worth it!
